The IFAA European Archery Championships have begun in Szilvásvárad, having kicked off on June 30 in the picturesque Szalajka Valley. Nearly 1,200 competitors from 26 countries have arrived for one of the continent’s largest archery competitions, where they will test their skills on various 3D archery courses through Sunday. The event is not only outstanding in terms of its sporting value but also significant from a tourism perspective, as the competitors and their entourages are filling the area’s lodging and restaurants, once again putting one of the Bükk Mountains’ most beautiful regions in the spotlight. The opening ceremony featured a colorful performance by Hungarian dressage riders.
